1. Howard College Open Day

09 May 2009

The attendance was good with more than 2000 learners. The contributing factors “to a not so impressive numbers” could be the fact that the weather was not good, there was a presidential inauguration which many people had set to watch on TV.

2. Westville Campus Open Day

09 May 2009

Similar to the above, attendance was not impressive with not more than 1500 learners in attendance. There were however school buses as far as Limpopo province with learners attending our open day. A presentation on Actuarial Science was delivered by our Consultant.

3. Pietermaritzburg Open Day

 

The attendance was great with estimated number of more than 3000 learners had come to gather information, interacting with all our faculties’ representatives in their exhibition stands

The event was well attended with more than three hundred learners form our feeder schools. Invited were both five Accounting firms and five law firms. Learners had the opportunity to interact with these firms.

2. Law and management Studies- Pietermaritzburg Campus.

12 May 2009

The event was well attended with both parents and learners.  We had Law and Accounting firms present during this event.

3. Health Sciences, Humanities, and Science, Agriculture, Engineering

26 May 2009

The attendance was not impressive, with not more than 300 learners in attendance. This was contrary to the number of confirmations for attendance received prior to the event.

5. MINTEK SCIENCE Teacher Presentation

14 May 2009, Edgewood Campus

The Schools Liaison manager presented to a group of school Science Teachers various activities of schools liaison Unit with the aim of gaining support of the teachers, and improving working relations. Comments posed by the teachers were of support and an assurance was given of on going contact for school visits.
