Entrance Requirements

National Senior Certificate (NSC)

Rating of Level 4 (50%) in at least four designated subjects

Relevant Subjects

English (Home Language/First Additional Language with Level 4)

Life Orientation (Level 4)

Points Score from six subjects (excluding Life Orientation)

Any language taken at Home Language (HL) or First Additional Language (FAL) level

Specific Selection Criteria







Some degrees also have specific selection criteria. For example, Architecture Studies requires the submission of a portfolio and questionnaire. Music requires an audition.



Cut-off Points

Some Faculties have a limit on the number of students who may register. The best qualified applicants are chosen first and selection continues until the cut-off point has been reached and/or all places have been filled. The tables starting on Page 11 show the cut-off points for the various degree and diploma programmes.
